The 11.30 Formal Service
What can I expect when I attend the 11.30 service?
You can expect a warm and friendly welcome gathering in which you should find hope, encouragement and perhaps a challenge. There is wide age range at this service but with a tendency to lean towards the older end of the scale.
Each service runs for about one hour and is more traditional in style following a set liturgy. No prior knowledge is assumed, and you won’t be required to say or pray anything that you do not believe.
The heart of each service contains prayers, a reading and teaching from the Bible. There is also a mixture of hymns and worship songs accompanied by the organ or piano and occasionally a small singing group.
Coffee and tea are served from around 11.00 with our welcome team on hand to answer any questions you may have. We tend to have anywhere between 50 and 80 attending the 11.30 service.
What happens to the kids?
There is no organised children’s or youth work at our 11.30 service
Is there a dress code?
No! Just wear whatever you normally wear. With a slightly older age profile at this service you will find more formality in how people dress but you will find everything from those wearing a suit through to jeans and a t-shirt.
Will I be made to feel uncomfortable?
Not at all! We will be welcoming, and you will not be forced to do anything you are not comfortable doing. We want you to feel right at home and enjoy the service.
Do join us for a tea or coffee after the service to get to know some people from the church.
I have more questions; how can I get in touch and ask them?
Please feel free to call 0118 9516700 or email the church office with any questions you have and we will be happy to help you.
