The #LoveYourNeighbour campaign is a national response to the Covid-19 crisis.
It has been so good to see many of you joining with other churches and partners in Reading to play our part in helping the most isolated and vulnerable in our communities at this time.
Right now these charities need your financial help as they face the pressures of expanding their work in our town. Have a look at the video below and do consider giving to this vital work.
You can donate a little or a lot and make a huge difference on the Transform Reading website.
Be part of it
If you want to be part of our volunteer helpforce helping those in need, please consider one of the following joint responses from Reading Borough Council and Reading Voluntary Action:
Telephone befriending – Engage Befriending need people with a DBS to provide a regular call to an isolated older person. Contact email@example.com
Delivering or preparing food parcels – Readifood are looking for couples with a car who can deliver food parcels. At least one of them will need to have a DBS, and you will both need to be under 70, and have no underlying health conditions. If you have no DBS but meet the other conditions you can volunteer at the warehouse to pack food parcels. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Help with shopping or other support – please register with RVA and complete their online form. They are coordinating volunteers across the town.
Those in need – if you are aware of someone who needs help you can contact the One Reading Community Hub online, https://www.reading.gov.uk/coronavirussupport, or by phone on 0118 937 3787 if it is an urgent welfare issue.
