Today, Monday 20th, preparation of the site begins. The contractors, Ash, are at Greyfriars for their first day and are wasting no time taking carpets up and stripping out internal areas ready for demolition.
The car park has been handed to the developers. It feels like a very momentous day on site as so many features we have seen for years come out and are heading for the skip.
