Atrium takes shape but suffers critical delay

Whilst the interiors of the Atrium have made good progress, and the external paving is also underway, we continue to face ongoing delays to the supply date of the 3 main Atrium roof lights. This in turn impacts the date that finishings and the fitting out can be started. At present Ash contracting aim to have much of the North Atrium and toilets available by the end of August with the main Atrium likely to be available late Sept. Whilst the delays are disappointing, they are part of a wider supply issue across the construction industry and our contractor is doing all they can to minimise the knock on effects.

Phase 2 works to commence 15th August

Following PCC approval on at the end of June, works to remove asbestos from the existing centre are now schedule to start on 15th August with completion of the new centre scheduled for mid November 2022. Phase 2 is to be built by Ash contracting for a contract sum of £4.59m under a design and build contract. Following receipt of several grants and the generous giving of many members of the congregation, we now only require a further £165k (if gift aided), to complete both the building works and the fitting out.
